Zliten
Arabic:
zlītan
City in northwestern Libya with 140,000 inhabitants (2005 estimate), situated on the Mediterranean Sea.
Being an oasis, agriculture is central to Zliten's economy, with dates as one of the central products. Zliten is famous for its date juice, the tarbuni.
The main landmark of Zliten is the modern Mausoleum and Mosque of Sidi Abdusalam.
