Batin
In Islam, term used with theology and law, meaning "inner, hidden, secret". Batin then refers to an alleged deeper meaning of the words and statements in the Koran and the Sunna.
Batin is the opposite of zahir.
From the method of batin emerged a number of orientations today called Batiniya.
