Borujerd
City in western Iran with 250,000 inhabitants (2005 estimate) in the Zagros Mountains at an elevation 1,700 metres above sea level. It lies in the Lorestan Province.
Borujerd is an active city with many mid-size and smaller manufacturing companies. It is also the centre of a fertile agricultural region.
Bourjerd is connected by road with Arak 110 km east, Khorramabad 100 km southwest and Malayer 60 km north.
The region of Borujerd has many mounds with ruins that have not been examined by archaeologists yet.
