Hurrians / Religion
Other spellings: Hepa; Hepatu; Kheba; Khepat

Goddess of Hurrian religion, wife of the weather god, Teshub.
She was called Queen of Heaven, and with the Hittites she would be assimilated with their original goddess, Arinna.
Her main cult centres were at Kummanni, the capital of Kizzuwatna, and Aleppo, but she was venerated at many small temples around the region as well.
She was represented as standing on a lion; or seated on a throne.
Her cult survived well the decline of Hurrian culture, she passed on to the religions of Lycia and Caria, slightly renamed to Hipta.
