Here are presented the latest figures from Transparency International (Home page | CPI 2008 Table).
The ranking, which has 10 as the highest possible score, 1.0 as the lowest, was in 2008 topped by Denmark, Sweden and New Zealand with 9.3 points. Lowest were troubles countries like Somalia (1.0), Iraq and Burma (1.3) and Haiti (1.4).
Scores are determined by factors as normal corruption, private as well as governmental, together with conflicts of interest, the likelihood of encountering corrupt officials, misuse of public office and anti-corruption achievements.
Those providing TI with information were country teams, experts, executives in domestic and international companies.
Palestine is not included in this list, but judged from information in the media, the country would probably not be placed in the higher end of the scale.
