Neferirkare

King of Ancient Egypt, 3rd ruler of the 5th Dynasty, ruling 2475-2455 BCE, 20 years.
Suprisingly little is known of his reign, despite its long duration. Substantial written material describe him as a kind and gentle ruler, and he seems to have made efforts to interact with nobles at his court. He is believed to be the son of King Userkaf.
At his mortuary complex, at first a 6-step pyramid was built, later converted into a true pyramid, 72 metres high. The surrounding mortuary complex was never finished.
He was preceded by Sahure, most likely his brother, and succeeded by Shepseskare.
