Omdurman
Arabic:
'umm durmān
City in Sudan with 1,5 million inhabitants. Situated on the western bank of the Nile, Omdurman serves as a suburb to Khartoum.
Omdurman has almost only low buildings, but is important for market activities, where people come in from surrounding areas. Omdurman was the capital of the El Mahdi.
