Shepseskaf
King of Ancient Egypt, 6th ruler of the 4th Dynasty, ruling 2503-2498 BCE, 4 or 5 years.
Shepseskaf was the son of Menkaure and an unknown queen. He was not the original heir, but Prince Khuenre may have died before Menkaure.
His reign was characterized by weakened state structures and reduction in the power of the king.
He became the only king of the dynasty not to build a pyramid. Rather he built a gigantic mastaba at South Saqqara.
He was preceded by his father, Menkaure. The next king of Egypt would become Userkaf.
