Yazata


In Zoroastrianism, angel created by the supreme god, Ahura Mazda. The yazatas had specific functions, securing the flow in the world, collecting sun light and distributing it on Earth, and especially to defend the Earth against the forces of Ahriman and his demons.
The yazatas are elements that are venerable, like the sun, the moon, Haoma, as well as Mithra and the Amesha Spentas.
Yazatas are central in human beings endeavours to purify and grow spiritually. Their message to human beings is to deny demons to avoid being condemned to Hell after death.
For the believers it is of great importance to remember the yazatas specifically during the performance of religious rituals.
