The Nubian villages of Elephantine, Siou and Koti, are since long on the tourist itinerary. Being a quick boat ride from Aswan centre, being small rural communities in the middle of the river with colourful houses, this makes sense. There are a couple of cafes here, and a few local women make henna tattoos (which wash off in 2 weeks).
