DENDERA:
Practicalities

Eat and Sleep
As of 2004, the temple area of Dendera is not visited while staying or eating in Dendera. Due to security issues, Egyptian police does not allow this. Dendera can be visited by jumping off the bus or train between Luxor and northern connections, so if you come from the north, check the practicalities section for Assyut. Otherwise you will have to come from Luxor or Aswan.

Transportation
Best is to arrange for transport from Luxor. A taxi for the day to Dendera should cost between EŁ70 and 100, if you throw in Abydos as well between EŁ150 and 200.

Going Next
95 km west: Abydos
65 km south: Luxor
