The Hypostyle Hall has 18 columns (plus 6 integrated into the facade) which are all quite interesting and often unusually beautiful. This I believe is the main attraction here, more than the interesting decorations on the walls and in the ceiling. I haven't often seen such fine decorations and so complete in colouring as here. Even better, no two column are similar. Each of them have strikingly different themes depicted. And it all culminates in the capitals (see next page). The decorations on the shafts are festival texts or hieroglyphs shapes as crocodiles or rams. The top picture show a scarab, which is so unusual that the local guards point it out to you as if it was a great secret. The lowest picture includes pictures of the protective god Bes, who was very popular among common people.
