Colours & Shapes
Strict regulations on shapes and colours were imposed when El-Gouna was designed. Colours are limited to red, orange, yellow or off-white. Shapes are dominated by simple lines, arcades, domes and balconies. The total impression is quite delightful, proving that artificial sometimes is superior to naturally grown. This is especially the case here in Egypt, where the modern urban architecture in most cases is quite ugly.
