Merenre was a pharaoh of the 6th Dynasty and ruled for 10 years from 2287 until 2278 BCE. For more information check the Encyclopaedia of the Orient: Merenre. The Pyramid of Merenre is in about the same condition as the one of Djedkare. But it looks even less as a pyramid from a distance than this. Passing it up close it merges with the surrounding landscape. But equal to the Pyramid of Pepi 1, its summit has fallen in or been removed, so that you may enter the inner chambers in open air.
