Along its waterfront, Benghazi has a couple of hotels representing the finest modern architecture of Libya. The Tibesti Hotel (two top photos) is excellently placed above the shores of the 23 July Lake, making it highly visible from all southern entrances to Benghazi. The Uzu Hotel is further out (bottom photo, seen from the Tibesti) making this the highest point on the skyline facing the Mediterranean Sea. It comes without saying that views from the top storeys of the hotels is the best way to see the full extent of Benghazi. These are usually not open to the public.
