UNESCO World Heritage List
Libya has 5 destinations which have been included on the list of the most important cultural sites of the world. While three of these belong to Greek and Roman civilization, two are of Libyan culture.
From Roman times, Sabratha and Leptis Magna on the coast in the west of the country are joined by the Greek city of Cyrene on the east coast.
The rock art in Acacus Mountains is the oldest site, while the beautiful old oasis city of Ghadames is the most recent.
