There is a striking simplicity to the architecture of Aît Boukka, no decorations, no deviations, few colours everything is oriented around one storey houses without windows. If you're lucky you get invited into a house to look around. Houses here start on the ground, they are made from the same material as the soil, and there is only a thin line marking the change from nature to man made dwellings.
A mosque is given colour, which together with its height, is the only thing that clearly differs it from the modesty of the rest of Aït Bekka.
