The market at al-Makhzen is a combination of tourist ripoff and traditional market. This photo is from 1992 when al-Makhzen was dominated by the latter. Today its central position — near many three star hotels and an easy entrance to the old quarters of Chefchaouen — has turned it into a place where the ceramics exhibitions make it almost difficult to pass.
