A visit to the Grottes d'Hercule is easily combined with a visit to the beaches. They tend to be very full in July and August, but are generally clean and pleasant. The only drawback is that the water here at the Atlantic Ocean is noticeably colder than along the Mediterranean beaches of Tangier.
