SABRIA:
Another oasis?
Sabria, Tunisia

Sabria, Tunisia

Sabria, Tunisia

Sabria is a world set apart, inhabited by the Berber tribe of Sabria. Beyond Sabria there has always been nothing, and before the road was constructed, only the ones with camels could get out here.
Sabria is noted for keeping up a traditional dance, the Hair Dance. As a part of a marriage, local women dance to drums whirling their hair like a headbanger, continuing until all but one have dropped out.
Sabria offers great views from the former French fort, which now has been turned into a campsite and a restaurant (lower photo).
